Founder, Artistic Director & Conductor
Jashandeep Singh Reehal
Born and raised in Punjab, India, Jashandeep is a self-taught conductor, composer, and arranger. He grew up teaching himself guitar and writing tunes, which led to a deep interest in composition. He grew up far from a Western classical music environment and could not read music. He moved to London in 2022 to study music production at ICMP London. He taught himself piano by ear on public instruments across the city, most notably at King’s Cross St Pancras, a journey that led to his appearance as a pianist on Channel 4’s The Piano (Season 3).
After seeing an orchestra live for the first time in 2024 after moving to London, he decided to go into classical music and be a conductor. Faced with the challenges of being an outsider in almost a non-existent culture in classical music, he spent the next two years learning relentlessly everything about music, scores, and conducting by reading books, listening to records, going to concerts, attending rehearsals, and speaking with many professional conductors. After conducting a few concerts with an amateur orchestra in 2025, he decided to bring together his own orchestra to focus on the specific sound he loved from the old studio orchestras from the 30s-60s, performing their inaugural concert in February 2026, which was well received by the audience and industry professionals.
